A late Victorian diamond swallow brooch, the bird inset with old-cut diamonds, with a small ruby eye, the beak suspended with a red guilloche enamel heart-shaped pendant, surmounted with an old-cut diamond floral motif, with vacant glass aperture to verso. The bird with silvered gold mount, inset with thirty one old-cut diamonds, bird 4 cm wide, heart 2 cm long, unmarked.
Provenance: Estate of the late William Lloyd George, 3rd Viscount Tenby (1927-2023), he was the son of Gwilym Lloyd George, 1st Viscount Tenby (1894-1967) and the grandson of David Lloyd George, 1st Earl of Dwyfor (1863-1945) the British Prime Minister from 1916 to 1922 during WWI.
