A Boer War medal pair awarded to: 3053 Private John Ryan, 6th Battalion, Dragoon Guards. Comprising: a Queen’s South Africa medal with 5 clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast (3053 Pte J. Ryan, 6/ Drgn Gds.); and a King's South Africa medal with 2 clasps South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 (3053 Pte J. Ryan, 6/ Drgn Gds.).
Note: John Ryan was born in Barony, Glasgo, enlisted 5/12/1892 and served in South Africa 3/11/1899 to 29/7/1902, discharged 4/12/1904 having served 12 years.
