R.) a Queen's South Africa Medal with 6 clasps Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast, South Africa 1901 (3361 Pte G. Ansell, Rl. Warwick Regt.); and a Khedive’s Sudan 1896-1908 medal with 2 clasps The Atbrara and Khartoum (unnamed); together with an Edward VII and Queen Alexandria medal 'In Grateful Remembrance of Service Nobly Done'.
Note: Ansell also served on the Nile Expedition in 1898.
