A Boer War medal pair awarded to: 2642 Private. D. Newton Somerset Light Infantry. Comprising: a Queen’s South Africa medal with 5 clasps Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal (2642 Pte. D. Newton Somerset Lt. Infy.); and a King's South Africa medal with 2 clasps South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902 (2642 Pte. D. Newton Somerset L.I.).
Newton was wounded at Potschefsroom on the 3rd November 1900. Verified on South African Field Force Casualty Roll.
